Fabrics and Leathers
Below is a list of our current styles of fabric, and
the colors that are currently available. Please notice that each style of
fabric has it's pros and cons. All of our corsets are lined with poly/cotton
twill which takes the strain of tightlacing. For more details of the
construction specifics of our corsets, please visit the Articles Page.
Please keep in mind that colors shown are approximate. The colors may
look different on your monitor. Fabric samples are available when order is
placed.
Poly/Cotton Twill
A very strong fabric with a matte finish.
Highly recommended for those of us who are daily tightlacers. This is the
fabric that we use to line all of our corsets. The weave is 65 percent
Polyester and 35 percent cotton. This makes the material as strong as duck
without the heavy weight. The fibers are treated with a coat of Teflon. The
Teflon allows the fabric to have stain releasing properties. (the dye receptors
in the polyester are covered).
Pros: A very comfortable fabric
that moulds well to your body. This fabric does not trap in your body heat, so
it is cooler to wear than man made fibers. Also, this fabric is hand washable
with care.
Cons: The only drawback is its matte finish, so it's
not quite as showy as others.

Satin
I have finally tracked down a source for very durable
satin. This satin is strong enough for daily wear. This is not the same weight
used in formal wear or found in fabric stores. This lovely fabric is %50 cotton
and %50 acetate.
Pros: Satin has a shiny finish. Very firm,
strong weave. The smooth finish allows the outer garment (dress, blouse, etc.)
to glide easily without friction. Excellent for daily wear in cooler climates.
Cons: This fabric can be spot cleaned by hand. However, it should
be dry cleaned on occasion. With the %50 acetate, this fabric will trap body
heat. Thus, this is not ideal for a daily wear corset in hot climates.

Bengaline
A ribbed, satin-like that is one of my favorite
fabrics for corsets. This fabric provides a rather firm fit. The weave consists
of %50 cotton and %50 acetate.
Pros: With its vertical ribbed
finish, this fabric catches light subtly, and accentuates your curves. This is
a very durable fabric, and can be washed by hand, with care, in the
sink.
Cons: With the %50 acetate, this fabric will trap body heat.
Thus, this is not ideal for a daily wear corset in hot climates.

Brocade
A jacquard woven fabric with raised, over-all interwoven
designs (flowers for example) giving an embossed effect, often emphasized by
contrasting surfaces and colors and threads.
Pros: This is an
absolutely gorgeous fabric. The cotton fibers allows your body to breathe,
resulting in a cooler corset in comparison to man-made fibers. This fabric can
be washed by hand washable with care.
Cons: This fabric is
not as durable as the cotton twill, so its probably not a good choice of
fabric for a corset used for 24-hour waist training.

Leather
I am proud to offer leather corsets. Leather is an
excellent choice for a very durable corset. Your leather corset is lined with
Poly/cotton twill. This allows the corset to be exceedingly firm while still
allowing some air movement.
$100.00
surcharge for Leather.
