Unassisted Lacing
Your new Wasp Creations corset has very stiff steels.
Much stiffer than those that other designers use. I employ these steels to help
support the back and internal organs of the tightlacer. Your new corset has a
4-6 hour "breaking in" period. This period of time allows the firm rear steels
to acclimate to the curvature of your spine. Please fight the urge to tighten
the corset more than 3" for this period. The corset will take the strain, and
will not rip, but the firm, un-conformed steels at the rear eyelets will put
too much pressure on your spine, causing a very sore back. Please play it safe
and lace with moderation.
The extra piece of material that you will find
inside your corset is the lacing protector. This stiffened fabric is to be used
between the corset liner and the corset laces. Please use the lacing protector
while wearing your corset. The lacing protector will prevent the corset's
pressure from pushing your flesh through the rear laces. Also, it will prevent
the laces from digging into your skin.
Ready to put on your corset?
Your new corset is very firm. So
firm that it is next to impossible to comfortably bend over with any comfort to
but on shoes and stockings while laced. With that in mind, I recommend slipping
into stockings and shoes before donning the corset. Unclasp the corset and pull
both sides of the corset so that the laces are at its loosest. Lay the corset,
face down, onto a bed or table. Lay the corset so that the bottom trim is
closest to the edge of the furniture. Lay the lacing protector on top of the
laces.
Turn your back to the corset. If you are wearing stockings,
attach the rear garters. Look behind, and grab each side of the busk in each
hand and place the corset around your body. You may have to do this quickly so
that the lacing protector will not slip down or fall to the ground. With the
corset wrapped around you, fasten the front closure.
Attach the front stockings.Do not adjust the length just yet. That is best done
when the corset is laced at a comfortable compression level.
Looking in a mirror, make sure that the lacing
protector has not slipped down. If it has, adjust the protector so that it is
aligned perfectly. Grasp the puller loops (the loops located at the waist), and
pull gently, and smoothly until the corset is smoothly against your body.
Wiggle your body so that the corset seats itself in the proper location.
Now, with the puller loops in hand, pull with more vigor, working the laces on the
top and bottom of the corset so that you get an even compression though the
garment. Continue to wiggle your body within the corset.
It is not necessary to
hold in your breath due to the fact that your corset is tailored to your body.
The corset will not compress your upper ribcage.
When the corset is at a
comfortable compression, tie the laces in a bow at the back of the corset.
Please resist the urge to wrap the excess lace around the waist. Not only does add bulk to the waist,
but will destroy the outer fabric of the corset and will give the wearer the
look of a prostitute.
Walk about the room.
Adjust the garters to the proper tension.
Now you are ready to dress for the day's activities.
