Underbust Summer Corset models

The Wasp Creations Summer Corset is rather unique. It has many of the same features of normal corsets: It reduces the waist and sculpts the torso, it molds the hips and derriere' to a lovely curve, and give a magnificent posture and well being to the wearer. But one of the features of the summer corset that sets it apart from other types of proper corsets is that it is ventilated. The reason of the ventilation is obvious. It allows your body to breathe and release the body heat that would normally be contained in any other type of corset.

Further Details

The hot, sticky summer months are upon us. Many of us run about with as few clothes on as possible. Summer dresses, shorts, and short skirts, which are tucked away during the winter are let out to visit the sun once again. Those of us who take our corset training seriously know how hot and sometimes almost unbearable it can be at times during this season. Let's face it, it can get pretty hot wearing a corset. Should we give up our enhanced figures during this time of year? Our great-great-grandmothers didn't, why should we.

Those of us who are lovers of the stay lace, may have seen wood cuts of corset advertisements from 100-125 years ago. We see many types of corsets, including maternity, breast feeding, even corsets with built in electromagnetic strips of metal! One of which I feel, is badly needed for us practitioners of the stay lace is the summer corset.

The front closure and grommet proper are reinforced like my standard, two layer corsets. The waist tape is fused on the interior of the garment insuring proper rigidity and resistance to stretch. The other sections use a single layer of poly/cotton twill that is exceedingly strong, yet light. This fabric has excellent breathing ability and allows air to pass in and out of the corset. This means that the Summer versions are much cooler to wear than my standard two layer corsets.

You may be asking, are these summer corsets as durable as your other models?  Yes, they are just as durable and strong as my standard two layer corsets. The main difference is that the weave of the fabric is not as dense as satin, bengaline, etc.  This weave of the fabric allows a greater amount of air passage.  Thus, the corset is cooler to wear.   The summer corsets do not stretch, nor are they inferior to the two layer models.  As a matter of fact, I normally wear a summer corset on a daily basis, regardless of the climate.

Which style is right for me?

If you are a woman with average to full hips, the Mid-Hip model is an excellent choice for daily tightlacing. This style is cut low on the abdomen and hips to ensure proper coverage and compression. The length will not hamper sitting or walking and is as unnoticeable as your daily bra. If you are a very petite woman or are rather thin and have slight hips, then I recommend the Short-hip Corset Style. If you are a male, I typically recommend the Short Corset for you as well. If you are a heavy set man, the Numan is an excellent choice. This may be a bit confusing, so I created a page to help you select the right style of corset for your needs.
