Update for August 27, 2006

What a busy, hot summer this has been.

I will be one of the judges for the New York Miss Rubber World 2006 Competition this year. This looks to be a great event. The event happens Saturday, November 11th, 2006 from 8PM-4AM At Bacchus Studios 515-a W. 29th St, NYC. See you there.

A new option to my corsets is now available. It is a locking closure along with a locking lacing guard. The two features prevent adjustment of the laces and removal of the corset without access to a key. Click here for details and to see a video.

My voice line has also changed. The number is now (718) 821-1230. This is also my fax line.

Update for February 16, 2006

I would like to thank the writers of Penthouse Forum for the wonderful article about my work in the March 2006 issue. The issue is currently on sale if you wish to read the brief article. I understand there are interesting stories in the magazine too.

A leather corset with shoulder straps was completed for a client last week. I am rather happy with the finished design.

Update for January 1, 2006

Happy New Year!

2005 was an amazing year for me. The year brought many big changes. The vast majority of these changes were for the better. I want to thank everyone for their patience while I moved the business from Kansas City to New York City. The move has been most fruitful already. By moving to New York, I have had the opportunity to meet and design some very interesting corsets for other corset enthusiasts.

2006 is shaping up to be an even better year. A few new designs will be released very soon. Just a few adjustments need to be made to the order/measurement forms. I have been asked by several groups throughout the US to conduct Tightlacing/Proper Corsetry Seminars. If I can arrange time for travel, this should come about.

January is already completely booked up with some amazing designs such as:

  • Two black Leather Bust supporting corsets.
  • A Black leather front lacing corset.
  • Several Mid-Hip models for accomplished tightlacing friends.
  • An amazing, revised torso corset for a friend in Texas. His previous torso corset can be found here.
  • Several custom posture collars.
  • A fully custom sized (35 separate measurements) black leather discipline helmet with locking hardware and matching posture collar.
  • A new black patent lambskin corset dress. This one is for me. Here are some details of this new Corset Dress design.

  • Photo Page for April 3, 2005

Photo Page for July 8, 2005.

    Update for October 26, 2005

This Sunday, October 30th, I will have a display at the Vampire Geisha Ball. This will be a great event to show off fantastic costumes and have fun with the beautiful people. If you plan to attend the event, please feel free to come by to my display for a chat. I will be bringing a small sample of my custom corsets, some ready-to-wear corsets, posture collars, and a few other goodies.

    Update for July 31, 2005

The move to Brooklyn went rather smoothly. Monday will be the first day of production in the new space. I should have the new space settled by next week to take in visitors. The new Fax line is installed. The number is: 718-821-1230.

    Update for July 10, 2005

Thank you to all the folks who have wished me a safe trip.

On the first Friday of every month, downtown Kansas City, has an Art Walk in the Arts district. A few new friends and I started showing up wearing rather interesting clothing. A few more photos can be found here.

    Update for July 8, 2005

    Brooklyn Bound!

I wish to thank the thousands of people who have entrusted their tightlacing needs to me over the years. The fact that I get to spend my days making corsets, something I used to do as a hobby as a teenager, still boggles my mind. I truly love what I do, and am most fortunate that many people have the desire to hire my services as a Corsetiere'. I have had the opportunity to speak with, meet, and design corsets for many fascinating people. In doing so, I have learned a great deal just what needs to be done to create comfortable, curvaceous, tightlacing corsets for many body shapes, desires, and tastes.

The support that my clients have given me over the years have made possible a new project I have been working on for six months or so. The project is the move of my life and Wasp Creations, interwoven as they are, to New York City.

I am very excited about the move on many levels. I will finally be in a town that has an active fetish and fashion community. There are many sources for interesting materials for new corsets. I have had the opportunity to meet and measure new clients whose ideals in corsetry and tightlacing are similar to mine. The new location will be three times the size of my present studio. There will be a large display area to show off my work.

The new space is going to need a great deal of work, so production will stop for a few weeks. I anticipate production up and running the first week of August. That does not mean that I am closing the business or disappearing. If you have any questions, feel free to call me. The voice line (816-821-1230) will stay the same. This will be the best way to contact me or to schedule an appointment. My email responses are going to be a bit slow at this time. I apologize for this. The website will still be up for viewing. The new Address will be:

    Wasp Creations
    114 Forrest St. Suite 3C
    Brooklyn, NY 11206

    Happy Lacing,
    Amy Crowder

    Update for May 8, 2005

A new look for the website. I have removed the frames, so the site should be easier to read and navigate.

As some of you know, I had a fantastic time in New York City in April. While in town, I had a few photo shoots. I will try to update the site this week with new photos.

On May 30th,I will be returning to New York to attend the
. I am particularly excited about The Black and Blue Ball.

While in New York, I would be happy to have Consultations with new and existing clients. If you would like to make an appointment, please give me a call at the studio. My schedule is going to be tight on this visit, so spots are limited.

    April 3, 2005

I will be making another business trip to New York City the week of April 11th. My busy schedule has three more spaces for in-town consultations.  A consultation will consist of a chat, viewing samples of my designs, measurement session, and fabric/leather selection.  Please give me a call at the studio if you would like to set up an appointment.

Added Special Request Corset Page. This page shows off just a few of the exotic corsets I've made in the last few years.

    January 4th, 2002

Welcome to the new Wasp Creations website! I hope it loads up even quicker. Long time visitors may notice the departure from the dark look that the site had for nearly 4 years. Time for a more upbeat look. Some folks mentioned that the color layout made the text difficult to read. Perhaps this is a little easier on the eyes. I also tossed all those terrible nested tables that made it so slow to load. All those tables made it difficult to read for those that have voice enabled browsers.
    New Stuff:

    New Measurement guides.
Better explanation as to which style best suits an individual's needs.

Oh, I still tightlace on a daily basis. Just like any reputable staymaker should!

    May 8th, 2001

Finally an update! To make your fabric and material selection easier, I created the Fabric and Leather page. There you will find descriptions of each fabric as well as colors available.

I finally found a good source for a durable, heavy-weight satin. Yes, it is quite durable enough for daily tightlacing. Details can be found at the Fabric and Leather page.

I am also happy to offer leather for the exterior material of my designs. The leather is very durable, breathable, and makes a very firm corset. I line the corset in the same poly/twill as my other garments, so its quite suitable for daily wear. I am in the process of editing a few photos to show you all what I have been offering many of my leather-seeking clients for nearly two years. Details can be found at the Fabric and Leather page.

The Corset Extras page has a better description of extras you can have to dress up your corset. I also included some new photos for a visual reference.

I changed the name of the Training Corset to Discipline Corset. It seems that the Training Corset name was confusing a few new to tightlacing. I received many letters asking if one has to wear the Training Corset in order to tightlace. Since the corset in question is designed so that the wearer cannot sit, it would be a poor choice for daily wear. Thus, I changed the name to Discipline, as its a more fitting to the corset's function. I am still working hard on the bust supporting corsets. I insist that the new designs be comfortable enough for daily wear and be invisible under modern clothing. This means that the design will not look like the more popular, yet poorly implemented "shelf" support found in corsets copied or based on 100 year-old patterns. These corsets were not comfortable then, how can they be comfortable now that we ladies are bigger?
Shown is one of my personal prototypes. Its a black calico wasp with black satin stay casings.

    Happy Lacing,
    Amy Crowder
