About Wasp Creations
Welcome to the online portfolio of
Wasp Creations. My name is Amy Crowder. I am a Corsetiere that
tightlaces daily,
and owner of Wasp
Creations. Thank you for taking the time to read this message before
proceeding. I hope your visit to the site will be enjoyable, as well as
educational. As pretentious as it may sound, my primary goal of this site is to
inform visitors that wearing a properly tailored corset is not painful, nor
detrimental to ones' health. Corsets do not have to be strictly special occasion
wear, but garments to be worn under daily clothing to enhance your
figure.
On this site, you will find
articles on how to properly
tightlace, the pros and cons of tightlacing, honest, candid, information on how
to achieve a more curvaceous figure, and the
different types of torso shapes in
contemporary corsetry. Also, you will find detailed information on each corset
style that I offer. You can determine which corset style is
best for your body, and construction details that makes
my corsets extremely durable and comfortable. There are also printable
order
forms and easy to follow
measurement guides
for each corset style if you choose to order a corset.
I primarily see
corsets as a wearable sculpture that is to be used daily to create beautiful
curves and shape on the wearer. Thus, I primarily design corsets for daily tightlacing. I take pride in creating comfortable, yet
beautiful corsets. Modern corsets that can be worn under modern clothing
without being noticed (well, everyone will see your new curvaceous figure). I
design a brand-new pattern for each client. Therefore, every garment that
leaves the studio is unique and tailored to each client.
To be
honest, I feel that if you are going to spend the money on a corset, it should
fit perfectly. That means I do not make
novelty/costume corsetry or reproduction corsets derived from 50-125 year old patterns.
I do not keep a stock of ill-fitting, ready-to-wear corsets. Sadly, many
contemporary corset makers graduate their sizing by waist size. Sizing by
the waist is fine for belts, but is not ideal for a complicated garment such as
a corset. Perhaps that is how these corset makers see their work as
extravagant belts. I do not see corsets as belts, but as complicated
sculptures that can only be properly made to the individual. When a
complicated garment such as the corset is sized by the waist measurement only,
the designer runs the risk of compromising your comfort.
What you will not
find at this site is nudity. You will also not find any corsetry fiction at this site.
At times, these stories can be entertaining, but I feel that the majority of them depict
corsetry in a rather poor and unrealistic manner. These stories give the tightlacing
novice misinformation on how to properly undergo daily waist training, what
proper waist training involves, and unrealistic goals. I want to present
reality here.
Please
take the time to sit back and enjoy the articles. There is a great deal of
information here, so it may take a few hours to read it all. Please feel free
to e-mail me with any questions or comments you may have.
I thank you
once again for taking the time to read this introduction.
My
clients' information is kept confidential and will never be offered or sold to
outside groups or individuals.
